What could be the Modbus settings to communicate with GEM or EMG?
If Modbus settings are not done correctly, there will be no healthy communication.
RS-485 menus are available in the menus of our Modbus communication products.
There are 3 more sub-menus on this menu.
• Address
• Baud Rate
• Parity
The address represents the identity of each device and can take a value between 1 and 247. For each device to be connected to an EMG, this number must be unique, and if there are two devices with the same ID, communication cannot be provided.
Baud Rate defines how quickly data is transferred in a communication link. For each device to be connected to an EMG, the Baud Rate value must be the same, if there are devices with different Baud Rate values, communication cannot be provided.
Parity is used to see if the data received in serial signal communications are sent correctly. There are 3 types as None, ODD and EVEN. Parity must be selected as NONE for each device to be connected to an EMG. If there are devices with different Parity expressions, communication cannot be provided
These 3 settings mentioned above must be made correctly between the products to be communicated and the same settings must be made for a healthy communication infrastructure via communication converters such as EMG & GEM.
