What is the purpose of generator input of the power factor controller?

The connection received from the generator output is made to the generator input located in the power factor controllers. The purpose of this for the power factor controller is to detect that the generator is activated when the power is cut off from the mains and to compensate according to the cosfi value (cosfi2) defined for the generator.

It is recommended not to connect mains supply to the generator input. If connected, the power factor controller will compensate according to the predefined value of 0.85 cosfi. In this case, your reactive rates may go beyond the legal limits and you may encounter reactive penalty.
